Chuck Runyon, Dave Mortenson and Jeff Klinger founded the Anytime Fitness chain in 2002, opening the first location in Cambridge, Minnesota. The ultra-convenient fitness concept grew rapidly, and by 2005 there were 77 locations across the United States and Canada. In the years that followed, Anytime Fitness expanded into Europe and Asia and was the first United States fitness chain to be granted a franchising license in China.
