About Us

Ben from Ben's
Barketplace

At Ben’s Barketplace®, we identify and define the questionable ingredients in poor-quality pet food so you can make an educated and informed choice when it comes to your pet’s food, and this includes food that is prescribed by a vet. Regardless of what ails your pet, the best medicine for him or her is healthy and complete nutrition, not high-profit-margin products full of poor ingredients.

Scientific research shows that some major pet food companies are making foods that are unhealthy and not properly digested by animals. Even though this information is available, it still isn’t widely known by the general public.

Ben’s Barketplace® is committed to getting this information out to the public. We are the dog and cat health food store. We will never have a poor product in our locations because your pet’s health is our top priority. We will give you all of our expertise and knowledge so you can make the most educated choice when it comes to your pet’s nutrition.

An Industry Rising

Pet owners don’t skimp on their dogs and cats; and they’re spending more money at an ever-increasing rate.

As reported by the American Pet Products Association, spending in the pet industry in 2014 exceeded $58 billion, and this number is expected to climb to over $60 billion for 2015. Pet spending has continued this upward trend since 2010, when it was $48.35 billion.

Within pet industry spending, the food segment is the largest by far. Consumers are going to spend more than $23 billion on food for their pets in 2015, which is up from $22.25 billion in 2014.

The vast majority of the food sold these days is made from poor ingredients by global conglomerates. With some of the top-selling pet foods in the United States, the most costly part is actually the packaging! Sharp advertising is what sells the products, even if they are inferior.

Owners are becoming more concerned about the source and quality of their pet foods, something that mirrors the human dietary trends we’re seeing toward better, more natural products. In response to this demand, some pet food manufacturers are offering higher-grade foods for diet, medical and health- boosting reasons.

Pet owners are willing to pay more for these types of higher-quality foods. After all, healthier pets mean fewer vet bills!

An APPA survey from 2015 found that 68 percent of households in the U.S. have a pet, which equals just fewer than 80 million homes. Back in 1998, just 56 percent of households reported owning a pet.

In short, more people are getting pets and spending more money on them, particularly for food.

The Ben’s Barketplace® franchise is a niche that fills the void created by an industry that is focused on a consumer who can’t complain. Our pets can thrive though tested and tried nutritional guidance and the use of healthy, focused food products, and Ben’s Barketplace® is the "Health Food Store for Dogs and Cats!"

We provide education and identify ingredients for every single customer so their cat or dog can reach the highest longevity and health levels!

Ben’s Barketplace® is the place that reaches the highest well-being and health thresholds for America’s cats and dogs!

"This place is as good as it gets! I can't talk enough about this gem of a health food store. The owners and staff are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the health of your beloved pets. I trust the words that come out of their mouths 100x more than what my vet has ever told me. My dog, Tank, had horrible skin allergies and I was tired of shoving pills down his throat for only temporary relief. I followed the advice I was given at Ben's and his skin has never been bettter! I had pretty much settled on the fact that my dog would live his life with very pink, almost sun burnt looking skin. His skin is now a normal color and I don't have the problems I used to have. All of the products they carry are top of line and their prices are great! I'm a loyal customer for life!" - Nicole D.
