Our Story

In the spring of 1990, after hundreds of classes and a lot of beer, two men graduated from Jacksonville State University.

One man had an extraordinary craving for sports, the other craved spicy food, but they both loved beer. Realizing the degrees they spent a combined 12 years earning were not serving them, they decided to open a place to serve both of their cravings.

As they moved forward, the men faced challenges in finding financing, employees, equipment and a building. The pair sold all their baseball cards for financing and begged a local person to let them use a building, and made it happen. They found a way through and opened the first Jefferson's in Jacksonville, AL.

Customers were hooked.

People loved the chicken wings to the point of running out! Jefferson’s next popped up in college town Lawrence, Kansas. Georgia and Tennessee followed and growth continued from there. A loyal customer wanted Jefferson’s so much, she opened the first franchised location.

Since then,  they've grown to over 36 locations across 5 states. Thirty years later, they still operate by the philosophy “franchisee first” because they know a franchisor can only be successful if each of their franchisees are successful first.

Training and Support

Real Estate Support: We will provide professional assistance in site selection, lease negotiations and construction coordination to set your restaurant up for success. We have a network of preferred real estate brokers, architects and contractors to help you through the process. We will provide professional assistance in site selection. 

Training Support: All new franchisees will gain hands-on experience in our existing corporate-owned restaurants from running a successful business all the way down. Our corporate team will each train you and your general manager, if applicable, through their expertise in front of house operations, back of house operations, facilities, POS support and digital ordering. Once your opening date approaches, our training team will provide training support for your new hires through our ExpandShare program and stay on board during your first full week of opening, at minimum.

Vendor Support: We have leveraged our buying power to allow us to maintain virtually the same exact products through broadline distribution across 6 states that we operate in. We have every facet of your new business covered with industry pricing, availability and ease of access.

Marketing Support: From your opening date announcement to your 10 year anniversary and every Wing Wednesday in between, we will be there to help advertise and build brand recognition within your community.
