History of Lawn Doctor Franchise
Bob Magda and Tony Giordano were the original “lawn doctors” and founders of the company in the 1960s. The company, which began in Matawan, New Jersey, began out of a local demand for lawn care knowledge. Increasingly upset by the money locals were spending on lawn care, the two men started Auto Lawn, the original Lawn Doctor. Neighbors and customers began referring to the two as “lawn doctors” and thus, the name was born. The two began patenting and creating machines and blends of products that brought the company success and originality. After Giordano’s death in 1983, Russell Frith took over for nearly 25 years, expanding the company and bringing it to the top of its game, ultimately passing it to his son, Scott to continue to the legacy.
