About Le Pain Quotidien
Le Pain Quotidien is a bakery and restaurant that was founded in Brussels in 1990. The restaurant serves classic, rustic bread and other foods, that are primarily organic and inspired by Alain Coumont’s childhood. Since 1990, the restaurant has expanded to include over 200 locations worldwide.
Dedicated to a sense of community, environmentalism, and simple, wholesome food, Le Pain Quotidien is the chain restaurant that feels like a local neighborhood café. Guests eat around a large community table, “elbow to elbow” and the menu features simple food centered around bread baked from starters as opposed to yeast, with ingredients that can be counted on one hand.
Sustainability
Le Pain Quotidien also maintains a strong commitment to the environment. The company has gone carbon neutral in 40 restaurants in New York and Connecticut by reducing carbon emissions and then offsetting the remaining emissions by investing into environmental projects that reduce carbon emissions.
