Petland stores are fully staffed with expertly trained pet counselors who uphold Petland's mission of matching the right pet with the right person and meeting the needs of both. Petland's Pet Counselors help enhance customers' knowledge and enjoyment of the human-animal bond. Starting operations in 1967 in Ohio, Petland sells pets and pet-related merchandise to consumers throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, France, Chile and Israel. Each Petland location sells fish, birds, cats, dogs, small animals, reptiles and the food and accessories needed to care for them.

PETLAND is a full-service, pet retail store that features live animals, including tropical fish, marine fish, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, tropical, domestically bred birds, puppies and kittens. The PETLAND concept also features over 4,000 merchandise items to support the pets sold to or already in the homes of its customers. Over 1,500 merchandise items are PETLAND brands, sold exclusively through PETLAND retail stores.
